Discount Shopping Review: Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice.  Rating:  - Noisy - does not make good chutneyHere's a couple things off the bat: I use this blender for heavy Indian cooking and I will compare it's performance to my Aunt's 30-year old glass-jar blender (Osterizer) that she still users every two days. 1. As others have stated, the blender performance is great. I used it primarily for preparing protein shakes. It crushed the ice well and blended the ingredients into a smooth shake. Unfortunately, the gear for the blade broke in just 2 months after purchasing the product. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I am already looking online for replacement parts because the base to the blade cracked rendering the blender useless. It is so loud, I have to plug my ears and it scares my kids. The food prossesor purees everything to a pulp, even when you pulse it just a few times. The glass blender is heavy, akward, and drips all over when you pour. We loved it until the motor quit suddenly within the first year. The store was kind enough to replace it, and we loved our second one for almost six months, when it died.
