Editorial Review:
Product Description: The Cuisinart automatic 12-cup coffee maker uses the same brewing system found in commercial coffeemakers so you can be assured of getting a truly satisfying cup of coffee. With its 12-cup capacity, you can bet the other 11 cups are going to be equally tasty. Easy to clean Gold Filter with easy swing-out basket Brew Pause Color - Black with brushed stainless-steel accents
Discount Shopping Review: Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

This is the best coffee maker I've ever seen/used. It is totally solid. My last one died after 4 years but I use it 2-3 times every day. I figure that's like 3,650 times. That's less than 2 cents per use. When it died I didn't hesitate for a second to get a new one. (It failed to make the coffee hot enough.)
I would easily pay 2x as much for this coffee maker if I had to.

This coffee maker has been in service only since Christmas Day . . . I read all the reviews before buying this lifegiving piece of equipment. Is it supposed to have a light in the clock? Who cares? This sits in the kitchen where clocks much larger and easier to read abound. Can't figure how much water you're putting in? Fill your favorite coffee mug as many times as cups of coffee you will drink and pour each in the carafe. Add half a cup more water (read instructions!) and pour in the water ... Read More

I purchased this coffee maker about a year ago and I could not be happier with how it performs. It makes a great cup of coffee, is simple to use and it has a very unique style to it. It looks good on the countertop. Just before Christmas this year my wife and I purchased another one for her parents and they too are very pleased with the Cuisinart Brew Central. They have purchased and discarded three different coffee makers over the past year because of various problems or defects. The performance ... Read More

I've gone through a lot of coffee makers looking for one that makes coffee as good as I find in restaurants. This one surprised me with the first cup. If you've been searching for a good coffee maker, you found it. I've had mine for more than a month now and make 2 to 3 pots a day with it. Very good coffee! However, I find the replacement water filters a little hard to find locally, but they are available in many places online.

After reading recent issue of Consumers Report, I ordered the top rated KitchenAid DCC1200. I got a very good price of $63 including shipping. It works better than any coffee maker I have ever owned. I recommend it.
