Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Even better than the original! The 3-cup Mini Prep is designed with an auto-reversing Smartpower blade, a chop & grind touchpad control and a handled workbowl. The perfect size for the countertop. Model DLC-2A. Manufacturer's 18-month warranty

Discount Shopping Review:
This little 250-watt workhorse comes in handy when a full-size food processor is unnecessary. The 3-cup work bowl is just right for making pesto or a salad dressing, and two receptacles in the lid have pinholes for one or two oils to stream into the bowl while the processor is blending a perfect emulsion. It's also ideal for chopping and grinding. Pressing the "chop" button deploys the sharp edge of Cuisinart's patented reversible blade to chop onions, herbs, or bread crumbs. Pressing the "grind" button whirls the blade in the other direction so its blunt side can grind nuts, coffee beans, or cheese. Compact at just 9 inches high and lightweight (it has a plastic body), the Mini Prep Plus can be tucked away in a cabinet, and the little spatula accompanying it goes into a drawer. It carries an 18-month warranty against defects. The plastic work bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe, but the stainless-steel blade should be hand washed to protect its edges. --Fred Brack

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - CUISINART PRODUCTS DO NOT LAST!!!!!!!
This is our second Cuisinart food processor -- both have died very young deaths. Basically, after a few simple uses, they just won't power on. We didn't use them for anything unusual - just simple, quick chopping of vegetables. My guess is that Cuisinart is resting on its laurels from before the millennium, and is now secretly lowering their product quality hoping people won't notice. However, I've never experienced such shoddy product quality. It reminds me of buying a cheap product manufactured ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Does not work after warranty expires
I purchased this item and it worked great.....temporarily. A few months after the warranty expired so did this mini prep machine. I hardly used it so it didn't burn out on me. I never worked it too hard so there was no reason for it to quit on me. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. Also, in the same week I had another Cuisinart product die on me. The good news was that, that one was still covered under their warranty and they replaced it for me. What's going on Cuisinart? Your products ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - razor sharp blades; take care
I have a larger cuisinart food processor, and thought a smaller one would be ideal for quick baby food. Well, take care when opening the box... the blades aren't protected like the larger model. I assume you're supposed to first pull out the unpacking instructions (which are invisible until it's unpacked!), and the unit should be fully assembled (mine wasn't, the blade was loose in the box!). The bottom line? Dangerous when opening - I lost a serious chunk of skin, causing a lot of bleeding. I'm hesitant ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Feisty little machine
This is a great mini chopper for prep work or light duty chopping. Yes, the blade is sharp. But it is not meant for any heavy duty chopping. I use mine for nuts, cinnamon sticks, herbs, softer vegetables, onions & garlic, etc. I would not recommend uncooked potatoes.. that's what full size food processors are for. I've even made small batches of salsa and hummus.

It is a useful small kitchen appliance, and it is easy to store and clean.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BEST MINI-FOOD PROCESSOR EVER
I PURCHASED THIS ITEM AFTER READING A RECOMMENDATION IN THE NEWSPAPER MAGAZINE SECTION. IT IS THE PERFECT SIZE AND WORKS GREAT. I LOVE IT.I HAVE USED A SMALLER ONE FOR A LONG TIME AND SORRY THIS WASN'T AVAILABLE BACK THEN. IT WAS A LITTLE PRICEY BUT NOT THAT BAD. GREAT ITEM. I FULLY RECOMMEND IT.
