 Rating: - A wonderful help for the beginnerI am a recent retiree and since I have always enjoyed bluegrass music I figured it was about time to learn how to play the banjo and make some music of my own. It is rather difficult and with-out the help of the DVD I purchased from Amazon I my well have given up. While the banjo is still difficult instrument to play, at least some of the mistery has been removed. Rating: - Bluegrass BanjoAs a complete novice I found this DVD to be a valuable teaching aid. Pete Wernick has an easy-going teaching style with a little "goofy" humour thrown in. He starts off at the very beginning--how to tune your banjo and finishes showing you how to pick (that's a banjo-type pick) a simple tune putting in all the extra notes that make it a "bluegrass" arrangement. In between, he shows you all the familiar rolls and shows you how to form chords. He plays them very slowly at first and then speeds up ...
