It held a full sized suitcase and five fairly large, stuffed to the max duffel bags. It was easy to install on top of my Chevy Tahoe and we experienced no wind or flapping noise described by other users. It folds up and stores easily....I'm so happy I'm not having to find a place to keep one of the hard plastic sided carriers when not using.
